Hello,I am installing for the first time HPUX/IRAF and have run into the
following problem...I am trying to run the INSTALL script and get the following
results. (Sec 2.4 of the HPUX/IRAF Installation Guide)% setenv iraf /users1/iraf/
% echo $iraf
/users1/iraf/
% cd /users1/iraf/unix/hlib
% source irafuser.csh
% ./install -n
Variable syntax.Any ideas?Thanks,Alex Kim

Hi Alex,
Try running the install script as % csh -x ./install -nIf you see that it fails on an "alias PUT" statement, change the double
quotes on that line to single quotes. This was required on some HPUX
systems, 10.10 if I remember right. If you still have problems please send
me the output of the csh -x command.Regards,
