Daryl was having trouble obsinit'ing the 4meter account following
the mosaic engineering. Apparently one of khaki's (the 4m ICE host)
dual monitors was borrowed for the mosaic acquisition computer "rush".
The monitor (or its cgsix card?) doesn't seem to have been reconnected
correctly.After a full blown obsinit (they were also keeping a prior observer's
data around for some reason) and another reboot, the problem remained,
so I disabled the dual monitor xnews command in /usr/lib/X11/xdm/StartOW
and hacked /data1/4meter/.openwin-init slightly to avoid placing ximtool
on the second monitor and to avoid firing up a netscape (the dual monitor
defaults).An obsinit will clobber the .openwin-init changes, the StartOW changes
will have to be fixed manually when the hardware is straightened out.
(move StartOW.961127 -> StartOW and restart xdm ala rc.local after a
"kill -TERM <xdm-pid>" - observer should log out first, of course).Electronic maintenance will probably contact me on Friday about this,
