Status: RO> I have two questions: 1) can I install stsdas on my system? Yes, any platform that has an IRAF port can also have STSDAS installed
on it. Just out of curiosity, when you installed IRAF on your Mac was it
in the form of binaries ("load and go") or did you have to compile it?
STSDAS is only available as source code and therefore must be compiled
(which mean you'll need Fortran and C compilers on your Mac).> Has anyone every installed stsdas on an aux system? Yes, I believe so. At the very least I think Doug Tody has installed it
at least once just to make sure it worked with the IRAF Mac port.> 2) if I just wanted to get the stsdas.playpen.mosaic routine, could I do
> that without the full installation of stsdas (and tables)? Unfortunately no. You'd have to at least initially install both TABLES
and STSDAS just to get everything to compile and link; then if you really
didn't want everything you could selectively delete source and exectuables
from sub-packages that you're sure you're never going to use.-Howard Bushouse
