Johnathan, filename editing requires a list of filenames to be edited.
When you expand a template on a directory filenames are read from that
directory and then edited. String substitution is only performed on
the filename string for files read from a directory. Reviewing the code
it is not clear to me why the pattern matching could not be done on
the full virtual filename, but that is not how it currently works.
If you were to list the files into a test file and use the @list for input,
it would probably work as in this case you are just editing strings.
