All of our files are FITS format and to look at them in iraf I have
to use rfits to convert them to imh+pix format ... I had thought that
iraf would operate on fits files directly? is this true?thanks in advance!!Al

Al, there is a FITS image kernel for IRAF currently in testing; we hope
to include this in the V2.10.3 release, due out this spring (this will
also include some neat X11 support stuff!). - Doug
