Hi Andy, I don't think the error you report from IMHEAD is due to the
path string in the pixel file being incorrect after conversion. I tried
a simple test of that situation and didn't get such an error. I created
an image where the header string in the pixel file points to the wrong header;
I think this is the situation you are suspicious of: cl> imcopy junk junk1
cl> hedit junk i_pixfile update+
changed pixelfile string in junk.imh to point to junk1.pix
an "od -c" on junk1.pix shows the path string as junk1.imh
cl> imhead junk long+
no error, even though junk1.pix points to junk1.imh instead
of junk.imhPerhaps you are seeing BUG#1 in iraf$doc/bugs.v25. If you're using the
notation "imdir=HDR$", IMHEADER always reports the pixel file status as
[NO PIXEL FILE] regardless of whether or not the pixel file exists.Suzanne
