mail to.The 386i version of iraf is still frozen at V2.8, but that does not prevent
it from being used for software development outside the iraf directory tree,
nor has it ever prevented that. Remember layered packages, IRAFULIB, private
login directories? Anything we need to do with the 386i to support iraf we
can do, but the iraf system thereon should be either 2.8 or 2.9 and not
something in between. We will update the 386i to V2.9BETA when orion etc.
is updated, meanwhile it should stay at 2.8.
