When I type this,

imutil\$this->_split2($m[0]) hedit myfile.fits CUNIT1="Angstrom" add+ addonly+

I get this error,

ERROR: parameter `CUNIT1' not found

I've so far got around it by epar hedit and setting add and addonly to yes but this isn't a permanent solution. Is this a sign of a bad iraf install or something?

Please help!

See the help page, there is no '=' between the keyword and value, they are separate arguments. E.g.

cl\$this->_split2($m[0]) hedit myfile.fits CUNIT1 'Angstrom' add+ addonly+
