I am currently using astroconda, pyraf, and ds9 to process my image, and I meet a bug very similar to this one : https://iraf.net/forum/viewtopic.php?showtopic=1466317
The version of software as well as hardware I am using is :
macOS High Sierra 10.13.6
macbook pro 13-inch 2018
ds9 7.5 (install from astroconda as a part of Legacy Software Stack (with IRAF), conda create -n iraf27 python=2.7 iraf-all pyraf-all stsci )
pyraf 2.1.15
iraf 2.16
(both installed by conda create -n iraf27 python=2.7 iraf-all pyraf-all stsci)
The problem is that
1.pyraf
2.!ds9 &
3.open a fits from ds9->file->open
4.epar imexamine (not provide the input parameter)
5.select a star and press ‘a’,’e’,’r’ will work as normal
6.select a star and press ‘j’
7.the task quit with out return anything on the graph window ,the cursor change from a blinking circle to a arrow , the terminal doesn’t return a prompt and I can’t type in a new command, it just look like waiting for a ‘q’ in imexam mode.
p.s. some time before I get a ERROR: arithmetic exception in the terminal, but I can’t reproduce it at the moment.
if using iraf and xgterm instead of pyraf, I just get the same problem as 7.
The problem may be not caused only by my image because some time ago I have used imexamine (latest pyraf and iraf installed from astroconda) to check this image on a fedora system, the task worked fine. I would like to upload it if necessary but I don't know how.
Any help would be appreciated.
p.s. I don't want to give up using pyraf and imexamine.
