My student and I have been trying to make color images with ds9, something I have done successfully in the past. We click on "new rgb" and load in the three images one by one. But then when we go back to look at the previous images we loaded, one or more will have disappeared. It will just be blank. We understand about clicking on "current" before loading a new image and on "view" to see a particular image. We both had the same problem on our respective laptops, each working independently. However, we both have MacBook Pros, run Mavericks OSX, ds9 5.7. Suggestions on how to trouble shoot this would be appreciated. Thank you.

I've never used that feature and can't help directly, however if you don't get a response here you might contact the DS9 author at saord@cfa.harvard.edu (or by Twitter to @SAOImageDS9). Version 5.7 is rather old so you might also try a more recent version in case this is a know issue, please be aware v7.2 however has problems with IRAF cursor reads.
