Hi
I'm trying to combine the orders from an echelle spectrum that have been separated into individual files using scopy into one long spectrum so I can see the overall shape.
I am using scombine.
My input file is @inscombine1252_bt14long.lis, this contains e.g.
1252_bt14.0001.fits
1252_bt14.0002.fits
1252_bt14.0003.fits
1252_bt14.0004.fits
1252_bt14.0005.fits
1252_bt14.0006.fits
1252_bt14.0007.fits
1252_bt14.0008.fits
1252_bt14.0009.fits
1252_bt14.0010.fits
I set the output parameter to "1252_bt14_1d.fits"
I set the group parameter to "all" (although I have also tried "images" and "apertures" with no success)

This executes and combines all the files however when I look at it in splot I can only see one order at a time instead of the whole spectrum.

regards
Colin

Hello Colin,

I'm sorry you did not get a response sooner. I don't know the answer at this point. If you send me (valdes@noao.edu) parameter listings (lpar scombine) and head listings (imhead l+) I can tell you what is wrong. Also let me know the version of IRAF and OS.
