I'm thinking of buying a mac laptop that I would use to run iraf. Are there minimum memory requirements to run iraf? What works comfortably? Macbook Air or Pro?

Any Mac laptop you could buy today is more than adequate to run IRAF. Whether you might want to get a bigger disk, faster CPU, or extra RAM would depend on what else you might use the machine for. Similarly, the choice of Air or Pro depends on your tastes and needs, e.g. I prefer the daily portability of the Air over the once-in-a-great-while need for more horsepower.
