Im very new to iraf and I am currently using iraf11. Im currently not able to look at the images i have saved would i be possibly missing something making it not possible to open the images with mplot or could i even be using the wrong command.

You'll need to supply more details: If by 'iraf11' you mean v2.11 then this is a very old version and you should update. Are these FITS images or .imh images? If .imh, are these old image you perhaps read from tape (in which case there may be a byte-swap issue or a pixfile path problem) or something new. You say you can't open the images, what is the error message and from what task. IMPLOT may or may not be the right command, what are you trying to do?
