Bus error when attempting to run

Hello,

I have a Macbook Pro Retina 15" with an Intel Core I7 ("Mid 2012"), 64-bit, with IRAF v. 2.16 installed. When I attempt to run the fitparams task (in the noao.digiphot.photcal package) it exits immediately with:

ERROR: bus error

From prior discussions (topic: 1467309), I see that there were issues with fitparams when running under v. 2.15 on a 64-bit architecture and that a patch was given (at: ftp://iraf.noao.edu/iraf/v215/support/macintel/x_photcal.e). When I try swapping this x_photcal.e in and then run fitparams, it throws me a seg fault:

PANIC in `/usr/local/scisoft//packages/iraf/iraf/noao/bin.macintel/x_photcal.e': Write to IPC with no reader
Segmentation fault: 11

Any ideas what may be causing this issue? Other tasks in photcal (e.g., "invertfit") seem to work fine.
