I keep running in the following problem: when running echelle/scombine, the task hangs after a few spectra with the message "ERROR: segmentation violation". Since it stopped always at random images, I suspected that the problem is not within the spectra/task parameters. So I tried to run the task with the same parameters on a linux machine, where it did the job smoothly.
Do you have any ideas, how to fix this?I'm running iraf 2.15.1a, coming with the mac version of scisoft.

I'm afraid I don't know what the problem is nor have there been any other reports. Rather than trying to debug this on V2.15.1a from scisoft I would do so for V2.16. I have a suspicion that the problem was probably fixed during other fixes for related problems in this task. Let us know if you find this same problem after updating to V2.16. It is perfectly fine if you just find the workaround of using a linux machine for this particular application satisfies your data analysis needs.Frank Valdes

Never mind, I found the follow-up post (not linked to this thread) that gave the patch. It worked fine! Thanks, all!
