A Cygwin port of v215 hasn't been a high priority (you're only the 2nd person to ask in a year) and while most of the work is already done, I haven't gotten around to finishing it off.The older v214 Cygwin/IRAF port is still available from ftp://iraf/noao.edu/iraf/v214/PCIX . The STSDAS binaries may no longer be available, but you can always compile from source. If you must run v215, have a look at VMWare or VirtualBox for ways to run a virtual Linux machine on your Windows box.

Thanks. v 2.14 will do.
i found and installed that, but the cygwin binaries for table and stsdas apparently don't exist any more. I tried to create them from source, using mkpkg cygwin, but that fails, since cygwin is unknown.

The simplest fix is to just create a 'bin.cygwin' directory by hand and then reset the 'bin' link to point to it, e.g.[code:1:e3d9ab6644]
% cd /iraf/extern/stsdas
% mkdir bin.cygwin
% rm -f bin
% ln -s bin.cygwin bin
[/code:1:e3d9ab6644]This assume you have a pure-source stsdas/tables package, the 'mkpkg' route will archive existing binaries to prepare the package for the new arch so the above is for desperate-times only. The proper way is to edit the package 'mkpkg' file, copy and existing block for a target like 'linux' and change 'linux' to read 'cygwin' so you can reset the arch normally (note you may still have to create a bin.cygwin directory by hand).Be sure to compile TABLES first (using the "-p tables" flag to 'mkpkg'), then build STSDAS (using "-p tables -p stsdas" to load the proper env). I remember there being a few minor compilation errors that I had to fix for cygwin, keep an eye out for those and just ignore them if they're not in a task you'll be using, otherwise I can tell you how to fix it.
