Hi,I have a multi-extension fits file. It contains 5 frames, indexed from 0 to 4.
I want to find average of these 5 frames. So I used the task IMCOMBINE.
Keeping all the parameters of this task unchanged ( kept default parameters) execept input and output parameters, I ran this task.
(I set "Input" parameter to name of the fits file.)I got following warning message:
[quote:659c912588]
Warning Message: FXF: must specify which FITS extension[/quote:659c912588]And I didn't get any output.
This is the first time I am using multi-extension fits file.
Any help is appreciated.Thanks,
smp

Two ways that come to mind are to use either the MSCOMBINE task in the MSCRED external package since this is designed to work on MEF images, or to use the FXSPLIT task in the FITSUTIL package to split the MEF into separate simple FITS files and then proceed with IMCOMBINE.Otherwise, you'll need to explicitly list each extension as a separate image for them to be treated as simple files in a list, e.g.[code:1:80418082f1]
cl> imcombine img.fits[1],img.fits[2],......
[/code:1:80418082f1]
