Hi,I'm trying to reduce GMOS data and I'm using GEMINI package V 1.10
under IRAF V 2.13-BETA2.After runing the GPREPARE routine I have the following message:Input list = @objects.lis
Output list =
Output prefix = gt
Raw path =
Add MDF = yes
Input MDF in case header keyword not found = WARNING - GPREPARE: Mask or IFU used without grating, setting OBSMODE=IMAGE
WARNING - GPREPARE: Mask or IFU used without grating, setting OBSMODE=IMAGE
WARNING - GPREPARE: Mask or IFU used without grating, setting OBSMODE=IMAGE
Input S20110317S0243.fits Output gtS20110317S0243.fits
ERROR: parameter `addonly' not found
"addonly-, delete-, verify-, show-, update+)"
line 499: gmos$gprepare.cl
called as: `gprepare ()'
I would appreciate very much any help about this.
regards,
charly

Hi Mike, yes, thanks. I did that and now I'm receiving the following message:ERROR: task `nhedit' not found
"nhedit (outimg[n_i]//"[0]", "NSCIEXT", next_sci, "
line 541: gmos$gprepare.cl
called as: `gprepare (mode=h)'so it seems I have a pretty old version of FITSUTIL.
I was looking around and I'm not sure what's the appropriate version
I have to download. The arch variable in IRAF is set to linux.
Could you please give me the link to download FITSUTIL?many thanks in advance
charly

See ftp://iraf.noao.edu/iraf/extern-v214The redhat binaries will work if you put them in a 'bin.linux' directory.

I downloaded the fitsutil-bin.redhat.tar.gz file and I put the binary files (those named *.e) into the bin.linux directory but it did not work. Moreover, when I call the FITSUTIL package I have the same set of routines
as before: fgread fpack fxconvert fxdelete fxextract fxinsert fxsplit sum32
fgwrite funpack fxcopy fxdummyh fxheader fxplf ricepack So, nhedit is not there.Any other suggestion will also be appreciated.
Thanks again,
charly

You can't just update the binaries, you need to install the source from that directory as well.
