Dear allI've tried to search the forum and still not find the answer.
I want to smooth my echelle spectra and save it into another file. what task I should use? I've tried the 's' keystroke on splot and use 'i' to save it into another file. but when I checked that new file, it seemed that it still has the same resolution as the original one.
thank you. Sorry if this question had been asked beforeregardsPJ

Dear all,
after I've tried several times, the 's' and 'i' keystroke in splot is working.
I'm just not aware about that, my bad^^'
If you have another ways to do what I asked for, please share here
thx regards
PJ

The SPLOT 's' keystroke does a simple boxcar smoothing of the spectra. If you want to treat the data as simply a pixel array, you can do pretty much the same thing using the BOXCAR task directly. Note for extracted echelle spectra you'll want to set the 'ywindow' parameter to be a single row.-Mike
