 DOHYDRA data reduction problem

Hi.
I am having a problem with reducing Hydra data with the DOHYDRA script and was wondering where to get help.
In summary: I had it working fine using IRAF 2.11.3, however I had a hard drive crash and have not been able to
get the same results for data using 2.14.2 (or in fact any version 2.12.n and following that I've been able to try). The problem shows up as broad anomalous dips in the continuum of my spectra in erratic locations. To try to
isolate the problem, I copied an old reduction directory into a test area, deleted the final obj.ms.fits file, and re-ran
DOHDYRA (to just do the extraction step) and I see the problem there, so it appears that it is some package
in the extraction step with the problem. If you could guide me to a location to get help I would very much appreciate it!

Sorry for the overlooked message. If you're still having problems, please post back and somebody (probably Frank) will get back to you shortly.-Mike

As it turns out, I am still having problems; since I'd not seen any responses initially I hadn't checked back for awhile.Currently I have IRAF 2.14.1 and IRAF 2.11.3 both running on my machine, and I have executed a test with a fresh set of data. I attempted to make the parameter files as similar as I could figure out, then reduced the same data following the same procedues. CCDPROC gave me identical results under both versions (I'd begun to wonder), but once I began the DOHYDRA reduction I noticed a difference almost immediately: the fit for the dome flat was NOT the same between the two versions, despite all parameters (as far as I know) being the same and running on the same image. Final results from this test gave me the same error as mentioned above. At this point I suspect that perhaps I have a mssed parameter somewhere? I'm suspecting that somehow the aperture tracing result may be causing the issue, but I'm lost as to how to proceed.Dr. Rogel

I looked at the posting and the problem doesn't quite look the same (I don't have the sharp jump in the continuum shown there). For more information I and posting two images, one from 2.11.3 and one from 2.14.1. They are from my recent reduction test, so start with the exact same image and were reduced using (as best as I could tell) the same parameter setup. IRAF 2.11.3:

I'll ask Frank to have a look at this when he returns from vacation tomorrow, I'm not familiar with the task but the shape of the fit may mean something to him. Thanks for posting the plots.-Mike
