By 'wake up' do you mean the graphics window doesn't appear at all, or just doesn't take cursor input? If the latter it may just be a window focus problem, i.e. try clicking on the border of the irafterm window to give it input focus. The other usual focus policy is "focus-follows-mouse", you can usually change the behavior from the desktop control panel. Since you recently updated OS versions, I suspect the default behavior was changed.-Mike

Thank you for replying. The mean of 'wake up' is the former, i.e. the graphics window (irafterm) doesn't appear at all.Futhermore functions without using irafterm in imexam also do not work.

If you see a lot of garbage on the screen, then it means you either have your terminal type set incorrectly or you aren't actually using an XGterm window to login to iraf. You can set the terminal type when you first do a MKIRAF or on the commandline as "cl> stty xgterm" so long as you are actually using an XGterm window. The alternative is perhaps that XGterm no longer works properly on Fedora 10 (a system I haven't tried). There haven't been any similar reports of problems, but I would assume that an Xterm window still works.-Mike

None of garbage does not show up.I tried mkiraf and set up to use xgterm and xterm, respectively.
But both attempts did not change anything.

Does graphics work at all? For example, what happens if you[code:1:a6aa2a53d5]cl> prow dev$pix 1[/code:1:a6aa2a53d5]In IMEXAM, do you see a blinking cursor on the image display when you first start up? Are there any error messages? Does the actually start or does the prompt appear again right away?-Mike

Graphics seem to work partly. When I tried to use prow task, irafterm woke up, and profile on the image row was shown. In imexam, after startup, a cursor becomes to blink, prompt disappears on xgterm, and there are no error massages.Only the function "q" (quit) is available, so I can quit imexam task and prompt
appears again right away.

Try "cl> unlearn imexam" to reset the parameters. Specifically, the 'graphics' parameter should be 'stdgraph' so the graph knows to switch to graphics cursor mode in the terminal.

I tried "cl> unlearn imexam" and run imexam again, but the situation does not change. And I always use imexam with the 'graphics' parameter of 'stdgraph'.

Sorry to leave this hanging and I hope you were able to resolve it. The only way I've been able to reproduce it is if the graphics window has been iconified, graphics still work but the window won't open itself automatically.
If you type the 'g' key are you able to bring up the graphics cursor in a window?-Mike
