hi,
I have 200 *.mag files and every of them contains 10000 star's magnitudes, pixel coordinates etc.
I'm trying to find the variable stars from the magnitude difference.
Does Iraf have a task for this or could you suggest any program for this search?thanks

Hi,I suggest you look at the tables.ttools package. While this takes a little time to learn it can do a lot of things on general tables of data. Note that it can read text files as well as STSDAS tables and FITS binary tables. I am using this package more and more for manipulating text file lists.Yours,
