Hi, I'm new to this forum and to IRAF... I ('m trying to) use IRAF to read a spectrum (from the telescope IUE). So I downloaded iuetools, stsdas, and tables. When I use sgraph, it tells me that:
ERROR: Terminal does not support vector graphicsI tried with xgterm and with the "normal terminal". I run that on a mac intel with leopard.I thought xgterm would solve my problems but apparently not... I guess it must be something really stupid that I missed?!

The normal Mac Terminal.app cannot be used for graphics. If you're using XGterm then you just need to tell IRAF that's the terminal type, i.e. either reply 'xgterm' when asked the terminal type when running MKIRAF, or at the CL prompt type the command:[code:1:7fddc87fb7]cl> stty xgterm[/code:1:7fddc87fb7]If you see a bunch of gibberish on the screen it means the terminal type is set incorrectly, or you aren't really running an xgterm.Cheers,
-Mike
