Astronomers,I have a 64-bit AMD machine running Kubuntu 7.10 Gusty (kernel
2.6.22-14-generic). I tried to run xgterm on a remote file server (32-bit), but xgterm failed to launch with the following error msg:***********
xgterm: error while loading shared libraries: libtcl8.3.so.1: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
***********I've installed libtcl8.3 and the problem continues.

I also tried to follow the instructions to install an xgterm on my local
machine. http://mjhutchinson.com/journal/2006/11/05/install_iraf_on_ubuntu_edgy_amd64Xgterm installed successfully however when I tried to run it, I got the following msg and xgterm crashed.***********
xgterm: error while loading shared libraries: libncurses.so.5: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
***********I'm wondering if there's a pre-compiled xgterm for AMD64 availble, or if
there're some work-arounds. Thanks!Yuxi
