dear IRAF.net,i would like to use the CCF that rv.fxcor produces, for further analysis of my echelle data.
[When using fxcor with delta functions as a template the CCF is a convenient way of combining the information of all line profiles into one single profile.]To make fxcor output the CCF i can use the
:wccf filename01
interactive command which works fine.
But if i want to analyse the CCF of a few hundred or even a couple of thousand time-resolved spectra, the interactive command becomes unworkable.Instead it would be excellent if the fxcor could output automatically the CCF when an outputCCF+ flag is given on the command line.
The output filename could be derived from the root specified in the already existing 'output=' parameter.Well the above is my suggestion, but is there currently another way of achieving this?regards, John

Hi John,It's a good suggestion for an addition to the batch-mode processing I should be able to add fairly easily. Until then though, writing out the CCF is only available through the colon command. You can still automate this however by using a "cursor command file" to drive the task for you. The format of the file is "<x> <y> <wcs> <cmd>" where I'd picture this using dummy x/y/wcs value and the commands ":wccf somefile" and 'n' to move through the list. Once you have the file created, you'd run FXCOR with interactive+ and set the 'cursor' parameter to take its input from that file, e.g.[code:1:4a90c7b133]cl> fxcor *.fits template inter+ cursor="mycmds"[/code:1:4a90c7b133]Note you'll need to setup the list processing for the images and the orders so they happen the way they would in an interactive run. See "help cursors" for more details on cursor mode files.Hope this helps,
-Mike
