I have been having a persistant problem displaying small images. When I try, I get either "segmentation violation" or "illegal instruction". From some tests, it appears that this is consistently true for images with sizes less than 65 X 65 pixels (i.e., 65 X 65 displays fine; 64 X 64 generates an error message).I am running the latest IRAF 2.13b2 release on a 17" MacBook Pro, displaying to DS9.Has anyone else had similar problems?

If you're using a SciSoft release then check the date of the binaries to be sure you aren't seeing a known problem (that usually showed up as a different error message though). I.e.:[code:1:8c5de8f965]cl> dir bin$x_tv.e long+[/code:1:8c5de8f965]If the file date is earlier than Nov06 you should reinstall the binaries from the downloads page.Otherwise, what version of DS9 is this? Is the segfault from the DISPLAY task or DS9? I can't reproduce the error here, does the following work for you:[code:1:8c5de8f965]cl> display dev$pix[1:32,1:32] 1[/code:1:8c5de8f965]Does IMSTAT etc work on these small sections or fail similarly?-Mike

You were right; I thought that I had remembered installing the latest binaries, but apparently I hadn't. Works fine on small images now. Sorry for the trouble.
