Hi,I have a set of 1995 .imh/.pix images which were taken on the CTIO 0.9m and I am trying to work with them in PC-IRAF 2.12.2a. I realize that there has been a format change for OIF but I do not know what the procedure is to read these images. Any suggestions?cl> imhead obj104.imh
obj104.imh: Cannot open image (obj104.imh)Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug,Most likely the '95 CTIO 0.9m data were done on a Sun system, by "PC-IRAF" I assume you mean a linux box of some kind and so what you're looking at is the byte-swap difference between the machines. V2.11 images were machine-dependent and can only be read on a machine with the same byte order (another Sun, HP, IRIX or your best bet may be a recent PPC Mac). We don't have a task to swap the image .imh/.pix files and a simple swap of bytes will corrupt parts of the header. The IMPORT task can read a swapped .pix file as a binary raster, however the header information would need to be recovered another way. Note also that once the image is readable, the path to the .pix file in the .imh header may need to be changed as well (e.g. HEDIT on 'i_pixfile').Cheers,
-Mike
