Hi everybody,I am trying to update the headers of my image files with asthedit. I am using a .cmds file. The problem I am having is that I am getting a syntax error when I try to run it. I have V2.13 installed. The weird thing is that when I use a school computer, the same .cmds file and same images, it works just fine. I do not know what version it is. Any idea?Thanks in advance,
William

You can determine an IRAF version with [code:1:154646949a]
cl> =cl.version # or....
cl> type hlib$motd
[/code:1:154646949a]Can't really comment on a syntax error in a commands file I haven't seen, please post it.-Mike

The school is running V2.12.2 and my .cmds file looks like this:title "NGC 6659"
subset "V"
date "18/06/06"
ra "18:33:54"
dec "+23:34:00.0"
epoch "2000"
imagetyp "object"
observers "Hintz"
observat "esc"
st =mst(@'date-obs',obsdb(observat,"longitude"))Thanks

You need '=' between the keyword and values. Don't know why the school system wouldn't have also complained bitterly about this.-Mike

Dunno, either a typo in the cmds file you just made or a missing date-obs keyword in the image (the missing keyword should have been printed out). Double-check the cmds file and try unlearning the task.-Mike
