Mike and/or Frank----I'm trying to reduce some CTIO 0.9-m ccd images. These were taken with
4-amplifier readouts, and each quadrant needs its own bias removal, etc.
There used to be an IRAF task, arcon.quadproc which handled these data,
but I can't find this anywhere---it shows up in "help quadproc" but the
arcon package isn't there in the general distribution, and I can't find it among
the external packages in the iraf ftp area. It's possible that Frank modified ccdproc to deal with multi-amp readouts, but
the help page says so, I can't find it.thanks,
phil

ARED is a CTIO external package you can find in the /iraf/extern directory of the NOAO archive. However, this was orphaned a while back and has been replaceed by the QUADRED package under IMRED in the core system. The procedures for reducing the data should be about the same, Frank can supply details if you have questions.Cheers,
-Mike

OK, thanks! That will certainly do it...There does seem to be an odd left-over in the standard IRAF distribution:
do a "help quadproc" and see what it says at the top. My systems all
have the help page, despite the fact the task isn't installed, and the help
page does refer to arcon.quadproc.
