My name is Matt Lykins and I am a second year graduate student using IRAF for the first time. I am measuring equivalent widths of absorption lines in order to calculate column density. The problem that I am having is that I need to record errors for these measurements. I used epar to change sigma0 to the rms noise but I do not know what the inverse gain is? What is the inverse gain and how would I go about finding/calculating it? Thank you very much.

See the question and reply inhttps://iraf.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=78868&highlight=invgainFrank will also likely chime in if there's anything more specific he can add.-Mike
