Greetings,I am having a bit of difficulty with a fits file in IRAF. Whenever I try to do any operations in IRAF, such as display or rotate, IRAF asks for the extension type for this file. I was hoping you could help me out with this. I have included the fits header.thanks,
Josh Tartar

I intended that last post to be in email form, not realizing that emails would be sent to this forum. The original message had the fits header attached. Could someone tell me where to look in the fits header to find out which extension I need to use? ThanksJosh Tartar

Hello;
I looked at your header (fits.txt) which shows only the main header, there are
no XTENSION headers in it. Please give us the exact command you are typing and what is the actual error message. If you think you have a MEF file (Multiple Extension FITS file), you can see
this by using the fitsutil external packagecl> fitsutil
fi> fxheader in.fitsIf you do not have this package, you might try tables/fitsio/catfitsta> catfits in.fitsCheers,
NZ
