Hi Mike,I'm afraid neither of these options worked
I'm still getting the same
error (in fact I have an extra error to do with the menubar when using
the second binary set you suggested). Any other suggestions?
Many thanks,Emma

Subject: Re: ximtool-altHi Emma,
You can get a newer binary from ftp://iraf.noao.edu/pub/fitz/x11iraf-v1.3.2-bin.redhat.tar.gzThese are Redhat binaries but should work on your system. If not, then
try using a hacked source distribution at ftp://iraf.noao.edu/pub/fitz/x11iraf-new_gcc.tgzYou can compile from source using the commands % xmkmf
% make WorldHope this helps, let us know if you still have problems.Cheers,

to use ximtool-alt in vncviewer on redhat 7.3 (I think) as that was the

bit Pseudo color display). Now when I try to run ximtool-alt in vncviewer
I get the following error:Warning: cannot open /dev/imt1o/tmp/_gui.cmds.7541: line 1: 7544 Segmentation fault ximtool -gui

first, and just had to change my vncviewer command slightly so that it
still ran with 8 bit Pseudo color. Do you know if there's a problem with
running ximtool-alt on Scientific Linux? Please help. Many thanks,Emma
