hi,I am a bit confused by the blackbody spectrum generation of the IRAF task
artdata.mk1dspec. When I give different starting wavelengths I get a
blackbody spectrum peaking at different wavelengths although I keep the
temperature constant. what do I do wrong? the manual in the IRAF package didn't give much of
a clue to this.
thank you in advance for your help, Hermine

Hi Hermine,Maybe you already figure this out. I apologize for the delay in
replying. My only guess is that you are displaying the spectra you
generate with implot or something that is displaying in pixels rather
than wavelength. As a test:on> unlearn mk1dspec
on> mk1dspec test1
on> mk1dspec test2 wstart=3000 wend=7000
on> specplot test1,test2This should show the two spectra stack and displayed in wavelength.
The peaks should
be at the same place. If not let me know. If you are still having
problems give some explicit
commands that you type along the lines of what I show above.Yours,
Frank Valdes
