Dear Mike or other IRAF Gurus,I need some help with running IRAF tasks such as hselect and hedit with
the long headers of ESO VLT data. I came across this:
http://www.astro.rug.nl/~ndouglas/websupport/IRAF/esoheaders.html
which was of some help but came into a snag with running "lpar esoselect".
I received this error message:
cl> lpar esoselect
ERROR: task `esoselect' has no param file
lparam (esoselect)
Can you send me some help as how to get a parameter file for this routine?
thanks! also, is there an hedit equivalent? and is there a special ESO
IRAF package? and if so, how can I get my hands on it?thanks!Evgenya Shkolnik

Dear Evgenya,You might want to give this package a try:
http://www.public.asu.edu/~rjansen/iraf/rjtools.htmlRemember, of course, that RJTOOLS is not a NOAO product and, therefore,
is neither supported nor endorsed by us.Going back to your first question, how did you define the "esoselect"
task in IRAF? Keep in mind that you might need to supply an absolute
path to the TASK directive, depending on your setup. In my case, this
works fine:cl> task esoselect = "/Users/fpierfed/iraf/esoselect.cl"
cl> lpar esoselect
images = input image list
keyword = keyword to examine
value = value to match
(list = "")
(mode = "ql")
cl>Hope this helps
