I teach Introduction to Astronomy, Variable Star Observing, and Super Nova
Astrophysics at the Science and Technology Center in Apple Valley Ca. We
have both optical and radio astronomy facilities and my classes include
data acquisition and reduction for both systems. We have both MAC and IBM
PC computer facilities on a 100 base T network. Our optical telescope is a
Celestron 14 with a CCD and filter wheel systems. Our radio telescope is a
retired NASA tracking station tht has been converted for radio astronomy
use. For further information see our web site at www.avstc.orgI am interested in the IRAF software for several reasons; firstly, I would
like the opportunity to show my students truly professional astroanalytical
computer programs and secondly, I would like the opportunity to use them in
my classes and research programs. I intend to down load several of your programs for evaluation. If you have
any suggestions with regard to their use in our application please do not
hesitate to email me.Charles Ivie
