Hello all,
I have created a rpm package for x11iraf and my intention is to submit it to as a new package for the fedora package collection. I have already done so with some other programs such as sextractor or wcstools.
The problem is that fedora only allows the inclusion of free software in its package collection and I'm not sure weather x11iraf is free software. I can't find a license or copyright file in the x11iraf distribution.
There was never a formal copyright file created for the X11IRAF stuff, but you can assume it's covered by the IRAF copyright (see iraf$local/COPYRIGHTS) which grants permission to modify and distribute similar to the GPL.
I'll put it in for the next release, feel free to do so yourself for now. Note that I'd recommend using the v1.5DEV source from the downloads link on this site as the latest version.

Hello, although I have built a rpm package of x11iraf, fedora linux won't ship it. Parts of the code are under a license with commercial use restrictions, and the result is that x11iraf is not free software (free as in freedom, not as in beer).
