Hi, Mike,
Long time no see. I have a question on the IRAF 2.15. I have recently had a fresh installation of the linux operating system (Fedora 15). The installation directory of IRAF is intact. Then how can I make the installed IRAF usable?
I checked the installed files of IRAF and noticed that the only difference between the old and new operating systems with IRAF installations is that there is a 'iraf.h' in the '/usr/include' directory. Then I copied that file from the old system into the new one and found that IRAF could be run. But there were still some errors in running some external packages. I re-'made' them and the errors gone. I'm wondering whether there are still some potential problems in using IRAF after I made the changes as mentioned above.
The install script will fix all of these links and edit paths where needed' fixing things by hand like this is never recommended (and unnecessary, besides). If you still have specific problems aft running the inistall script, post back.
