To whom it may be concerned.
My colleague worked on a fits file at
NOAO->onedspec->reidentify and do it interactively. suddenly it goes

PANIC in /iraf/iraf/noao/bin.redhat/x_onedspec.e: Memory has been corrupted

>From that on, this Panic happens at the same step every time.

We are using iraf 2.12.2a-EXPORT Wed Jul 14 20:45:34 MST 2004 and tables/stsdas 3.3.1

Hi Joshua,

There could be various issues involved, though I suspect that it's
probably data related, as there are no known bugs related to this
message (which is a generic system message).

Could you itemize the steps involved to get this error, including a
list of reidentify and onedspec parameters (e.g., 'lpar reidentify').
It would also be helpful if you could send us one of your spectra where
this error occurs. You can post it via anonymous ftp (iraf.noao.edu)
in the /pub directory, or email them directly to me, provided they are
small enough.

You may also want to try to 'unlearn reidentify' to see if it is a
parameter issue.

Regards,

Phillip
