Hi Mike, Frank,
I have a question about aptrace and database files that I was hoping you'd be able to help me with. I have used apfind on an image, which has created a database file with 40 apertures. I have determined which aperture I am interested in (defined by the "aperture" variable) and I am now using aptrace to trace just this aperture. The call to aptrace is below; the value of the references parameter is the file that was used as input to apfind (input1) and input2 is a copy of input1 (done so that the database file contains the name of input2 instead of input1):
I was hoping this would create the database file apinput2 that contained just the information for the aperture I had requested to trace. Instead, it is basically a copy of the database file from input1 (apinput1) containing all 40 apertures, except that the fit parameters for the aperture I have requested have changed.
The help file for aptrace didn't indicate that there was a way for the task to give me a database file containing just the aperture that had been traced, but I thought I would ask here in case I missed something? If this is not possible, can you suggest a nice way of parsing the database file to extract just the aperture that was traced? (I have a few ideas, but I'd like to hear from the experts!)
