Today I use imexamine with ds9 to get the physical position of the
source. I pressed the x key, but no result was got. And I also test ?,
a, m, and other keys. What should I do about it?

My iraf's version is V2.14.1 and the version of ds9 is 5.6.3.

My OS is Fedora 10. 2.6.27.24-170.2.68.fc10.i686

I dont' have a machine to test this particular configuration, but it sounds like a "mouse focus" policy, i.e. the default under KDE is that the input focus follows the mouse, but under Gnome it is a "click-to-focus" policy (meaning you need to click on the DS9 window before the keystrokes are read). Tjhe details of how to change this depend on your window manager, but try clicking on the window.

There have been recent reports that claim this is NOT the problem, and that only keys like 'q' are understood by DS9 ('q' happens to be built in to DS9 for some other reason). This may mean there is a cursor-read problem in DS9 so you might try using an older version as a test.

Hi,
Mike, I aslo tested with the older version of ds9 and failed.

I think it is the problem of GNOME.

I will do as your suggestion.
