I am currently trying to install the x11iraf package on my PPC mac, running OS X 10.5.5. The installation runs smoothly, with no error, but, when i call "xgterm" in the terminal, i get the following result:
Code:
dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: _tgetent
Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/xgterm
Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib
dyld: Symbol not found: _tgetent
Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/xgterm
Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib
Trace/BPT trap
My question is twofold: why is that happening (I'm going to suppose it's something missing in the said libSystem.B.dylib file, but please enlighten me) and how can I get it to work as it should?
I can't fathom why the only version i found on http://iraf.noao.edu/iraf/ftp/iraf/x11iraf/ is 1.3.1 while you have 1.5. Perhaps i got lost where i wasn't supposed to be, in a dark corner of the ftp archives.
FWIW, the 1.5 version was developed/released during the 'Dark Time' when NOAO dropped support of IRAF and is a product of this site. It's just never made it back to the iraf.noao.edu archives.
