Hello Eduardo,

It appears you mail was misplaced in our tracking system. I'm sorry
for the delay in replying. You are probably right that the error is
due to something in the header you are copying. To help you it would
be better to send header listings of the input and output images
(i.e. imheader <images> l+). I don't know if you need subpixel steps
but a simple way to tile images, though it may not be completely
obvious since the task is quite versatile, is to use IMCOMBINE with
the offsets parameter. In this parameter you can use either a file
containing the offsets or the "grid" option with something like "grid
2 2050".

Let me know if I can be of help. There are a variety of tasks which
might be useful to deal with the SOAR imager.

Yours,
Frank Valdes

Good afternoon,

I have wrote a very naive script to mosaic the images of the SOAR optical
imager, that I'm sending attached to this e-mail.

This instrument is a mini mosaic with just two CCD's.
The script uses GEOTRAN for shifting the right CCD image on the y
direction (just two unbinned pixels) and tile both CCD images using
IMTILE, which also manages to introduce the correct gap between them.

The problem I'm having is that the final mosaiced image, produced by
IMTILE has no header. To solve this problem the script is coping the
header of one of the science extensions of the original image to the
mosaiced one with MOVEHEADER.

Everything looks fine, but when we try to do any operations on this
mosaiced image that involves sub-arrays
(e.g. imcopy m_tempelI.007.fits[*,*] bla.fits)
we got the following error message:
ERROR: MWCS: dimension mismatch (mw_translate)

I believe that this error is created because MOVEHEADER is copying the
header of one image to another with different dimensions, but I don't know
how to solve it.

Can you help me with this please ?

Thank you very much for your attention and my best regards,

Eduardo
