The Astronomy Tools and Applications Branch of the Space Telescope Science Institute wishes to announce the availability of version 3.6 of the Space Telescope Science Data Analysis Software (STSDAS). Concurrent with the STSDAS release, we have also released v3.6 of the TABLES external package.....

General News The familiar Simbad name resolver/bibliographic service from CDS has been undergoing some major revisions lately to modernize the infrastructure (rewritten from scratch in Java) and add new data and features (e.g. application and web-service interfaces). Formal launch is expected in early September, but you can try it out now and see the new release page for details of what's changed.

General News V1.9 of the GEMINI package needed for reducing Gemini instrument data is now available from the package website. Scisoft VI from ESO Now Available

General News V6 of the Scisoft astronomy software collection CD/DVD from ESO is now available as a single DVD for Linux (FC3). The disc contents have also apparently made in onto the (non-ESO) OSX release, further updates likely throughout the year.
