Jeannette: Currently, 'lprint' isn't working within IRAF because of the
need to send ascii file to our printer via a PostScript filter. The
people who set up our server and printer didn't do alot of things
correctly, and dealing with the printer is one of them. So 'lprint'
doesn't work currently. We send ascii files to the printer from
outside of IRAF by first sending them through a filtering program
that converts from ascii to PS. The PS output then gets piped to
'lpr'.

Hi, Mike---OK, I think I straightened most of this out, but still not one critical
issue.I reinstalled "x11", and was still getting a "can't open /dev/imt1o" message.
So, I did a new "install" of iraf, and of course that created the
necessary stuff under /dev. So, I can now start up ximtool or ximtool-alt
with no error messages. Great. The problem is that the WCS/ISM stuff of ximtool-alt still isnt' displaying
right. Here's what I see in the rectangle with WCS and ISM on: X 1982.99 Y
745.99 144.317In other words, the stuff isn't fitting on a single line, and the actual
ra and dec are missing. If I open "coords" everything looks fine: the RA and Dec
are there, and everything looks fine. If I click on options, I see
that the First WCs is type display and format=default and both
panel and ImgWin are marked. For the Second WCS, it says World,
format=default, and it is checked in both panel and ImgWin.
If I play around with WCS and ISM then I can get RA and Dec to appear,
but the dec values fall off the edge of the display.Anyway, my impression is that there is some funniness with how the values
are displayed, at least with CDE under Solaris 9. Any suggestions would
be appreciated...thanks,
phil
