 ecidentify: not saving wavelength solution?

So I am running ecidentify (on a new anaconda installation of iraf). I have marked my wavelengths and fit a solution.
However, the solution does not appear to be saved. When I do an splot of the spectra the dispersion axis is still in pixel units (and pressing $ does not change the units either). On opening up the header for the arc file I see that there is no change written into the CRVAL values (shouldn't this be the case?)
I also ignored this and applied the spectrum to an object spectra using dispcor, and the resulting fit is in pixel values only. I have been using the echelle package.
Below is the header of arc file (without the standard observatory keywords). When I open the file using ecidentify I get shown the correct wavelengths for each aperture, but when viewing in splot I can only view in pixel values. I think I am doing something simple wrong here but I can't figure out what and where. Help would be much appreciated!
