Hi
I have upgraded my OS to Ubuntu 16.04 (64bits) recently and I installed IRAF with Ureka (1.5.2). I can create the login.cl with mkiraf without problem, but when try to enter iraf with 'cl', I have the following error:
error while loading shared libraries: libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I could locate this library in /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu, but I do not know what to do for IRAF can "see" it. I also perform a ur_test in order to check if the system can execute 32bits programs, it can, but the test also notices that 2 other libraries (used by iraf tasks) are also "missing".
Can you help me in that matter ?
Thanks.

I have no experience with Ureka; however: is the "libncurses5:i386" or the "lib32ncurses5" package installed?
"/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5" is for 64 bit only, and if the IRAF version is 32-bit, it can't be used.

Hi
Many thanks for the tip. That's was indeed the problem. By installing the libncurses5:i386 library, the problem was solved. Thanks a lot.

If I remember well, you can just do a sudo apt-get install, of the desire library (if using Ubuntu).
Cheers
