When I try to delete a point in fitting photometry interactively in fitparams, I put the cursor over the point and hit the "d" key. The cursor jumps to another star and deletes it. I am never able to delete the point I want to delete.

This was reported once before but never resolved. There are/were several known issues with FITPARAMS related to the 64-bit binary which might be fixed by using the 32-bit version of x_photcal.e. Depending on your IRAF version this may already be installed under a 64-bit architecture (i.e. linux64 or macintel, use "show arch" to check yours) but you can verify it using a command like

% file /iraf/iraf/noao/bin.linux64/x_photcal.e # or 'bin.macintel'

If it says 64-bit binary then get a new 32-bit version from either of

ftp://iraf.noao.edu/iraf/v216/support/linux/x_photcal.e
ftp://iraf.noao.edu/iraf/v216/support/macosx/x_photcal.e

Download these in binary mode, reset the execute permissions and install in your iraf$noao/bin.linux64 or iraf$noao/bin.macintel directories.

The cursor read itself is done in the CL so if the above doesn't fix it, try getting a new cl.e, ecl.e and vocl.e binary from those same ftp directories. Download these in binary mode, reset the execute permissions and install in your iraf$bin.linux64 or iraf$bin.macintel directories. Hope this helps.

[Moderator's Note: forwarded followup]

I earlier posted a problem with solving interactively for standard star calibrations with photcal/fitparams, concerning not being able to delete a point. I also cannot use "c" to print information about a point, except for the first one. And I also cannot expand the plot with "w" and then two "e". It does expand, but not around the region I had marked. Basically the interactive functions do not work properly.\r\n\r\nI should mention that I am using an iMac running OS X 10.10.5 (Yosemite). When I try this on my MacBook Air running 10.12.3 (Sierra), I get a "segmentation violation".\r\n\r\nI\'d appreciate help.

Replacing all of those (x_photcal.e, cl.e, ecl.e, vocl.e) fixed the fitparams problems on my iMac.

Thank you.

Had same issue, also fixed it replacing x_photcal.e, cl.e, ecl.e, vocl.e, as dah@lowell.edu said.
