Running iraf on linux.
Is there some way to get routines that use image interpolation to not use the missing values? I have an image that has some large negative numbers for missing.
jan2.fits[1024,1024][real]:
From the header.
BLANK = -2147483648
BZERO = 0.
BSCALE = 0.01
I tried the magnify task and it uses the missing values as valid numbers. My real problem is my own code that
uses the msi_ interpolation routines, but I thought if I could get it to work on, say, magnify, that this would be a start.
Do I somehow need to put Nan's into the bad values?
Thanks.
Tom

Hello,
I was going through some old forum questions. No the IRAF interpolation code doesn't have anything to use masks. What I would suggest is you first replace the bad data. If you make a mask for the data you want to minimize the effect on you can then use fixpix to interpolate over the regions and that will make the interpolators much better behaved.
