Deblending spectral line with SPLOT and the "d" command, followed by using the "f" to read in a linelist.txt file and a "g" for the fitting

The fits are done, the center, cont., flux, eqw. core, gfwhm are output to splot.log file when on exits the deblend routine with a "q"

However, prior to that step the user has an option to show the fit gaussians and the total overlaid on the original data with the "both" command. Dotted line the fit gaussian(s), while red dashed line is the total of the fit components on the std graphic.

(1) Can one output the arrays used by SPLOT to plot these curves on the standard graphic as an ascii file. The Angryyshow command does not seem to work. Can one get these data that are plotted?

(2) There is no description the SPLOT help files about how the flux is computed with the "d" command and "g". How does one determine the peak height? How is the flux computed from the values in the log file output (did not find a description in icuvrfit. gtools, etc).

Thanks. CW

CW,

There is no direct way to get text output for the plotted curves.

The log output for gaussian profiles is a simple analytical integration of the fitted parameters. Specifically the formula used is:

flux = 1.064467 * peak * gfwhm

As you note the peak is not in the log but given the other two numbers you can compute the peak. The curves that are plotted a simply the shape of a gaussian given the center, width, and peak. You would need the gaussian expressed in terms of FWHM or convert the FWHM to a sigma.
