Hello-

When I run 'mscgetcat' with the catalog set to usnob1@noao (as shown below):

input = TEaug292015.64819 List of Mosaic files
output = sh2-170.usno Output file of sources
(magmin = 9.) Minimum magnitude
(magmax = 18.) Maximum magnitude
(catalog= usnob1@noao) Catalog
(rmin = 21.) Minimum radius (arcmin)
(mode = ql)

I get the following error:

ERROR: segmentation violation
"radecsys="FK5", equinox=2000.)"
line 23: mscsrc$mscgetcatalog.cl
called as: `mscgetcatalog (mode=h)'

Attempts to use other catalogs either gives an empty output file or a warning that the catalog is not found. Nothing has changed with my IRAF setup. Is there something amiss with usnob1@noao?

Ok, I edited the the mscred$src/catdb.dat file and changed the archive.tuc.noao.edu references to simply archive.noao.edu, as shown below:

begin usnob1@noao
address inet:80:archive.noao.edu:text
query GET /cgi-bin/scat?catalog=ub1&ra=%-s&dec=%-s&sys=J2000&mrad=%-s&nstar=-1 HTTP/1.0\n\n
nquery 4
ra 00:00:00.00 hours %0.2h
dec 00:00:00.0 degrees %0.1h
radius 6.0 minutes %0.1f
qsystem J2000.0 INDEF %s
protocol http
type btext
hskip 12
nheader 1
csystem J2000.0
nfields 7
id 1 12 INDEF %12s
ra 14 12 d hours %12.3H
dec 27 12 d degrees %12.2h
mag1 52 4 r INDEF %4.2f
mag2 58 4 r INDEF %4.2f
mag3 64 4 r INDEF %4.2f
dist 90 6 r minutes %6.2f

Just in case I unlearned mscgetcat and then I ran it with these parameters:

PACKAGE = mscred
TASK = mscgetcatalog

input = TEaug302015.64865.fits List of Mosaic files
output = test.usno Output file of sources
(magmin = 0.) Minimum magnitude
(magmax = 25.) Maximum magnitude
(catalog= usnob1@noao) Catalog
(rmin = 21.) Minimum radius (arcmin)
(mode = ql)

But I still get this error message:

ERROR: segmentation violation
"radecsys="FK5", equinox=2000.)"
line 23: mscsrc$mscgetcatalog.cl
called as: `mscgetcatalog (mode=h)'

What could still be causing the error?

Thanks! Travis

Ok I've found a solution. The redirect to the new archive.noao.edu server isn't working, so I edited the mscred$src/catdb.dat to reference r2.sdm.noao.edu, which is a more direct link. This worked.
